The Social Studies course requirements and curriculum has changed over the past few years. MPHS' SS Department offers the following courses for the 2022-2023 school year: Civic Literacy, American History and American History 2, World History, AP US History and AP World History. Next school year MPHS will offer Economics & Personal Finance. 

Students must earn 4 Social Studies credits to earn their high school diploma. It determine which SS credits are needed, please see the NCDPI guidance chart and follow the year that the student entered high school. 

Other courses taught in the SS Department include Honors Psychology, Intro to New Testament, Intro to Old Testament, Advanced New Testament and Advanced Old Testament.
